Our essential questions in April
Grade 6: how do we talk about colors? do we borrow words from French to describe colors? Do colors symbolize the same things in different cultures?
Grade 7: how do we travel? Do French people have different means of transportation? What are different brands of transportation in France?
Grade 8: how does one write a postcard? is there anything that makes a postcard a French one?
April Fool!!
We learned that French people prank each other on April 1st by putting pictures of fish on each other’s back. In club, we made pictures of fish and stuck them on our friends’ backs on April 1st! Poisson d’avril!!

February and March essential questions
While discovering cultural celebration of carnaval, 8th grade students will be thinking about “how can we compare and contrast the past tense in French and English?”, 7th grade students will reflect on how our houses reflect our culture and 6th grade students will be thinking about numbers and how numbers are formed according to our language.

Essential Questions
December/ January 2015: 6th graders are pondering over “Do cultures see time differently? How would some of those differences be seen when you travel abroad?“, while 7th are reflecting on ” Do my culinary habits reflect my culture?‘ and 8th graders are thinking about “What is particular about French food? what does a French meal look like?”
After the events in Paris this weekend, I want to remember that the values of the French Republic are:
