At Ashley we know the first steps on the path to succeed in middle school, high school and college are crucial. We offer every student a rigorous liberal arts education and exposure to the arts, sciences, languages, and technology. We strive to nurture the confidence and character needed to achieve goals and succeed in the 21st century help our students learn to have a positive impact our community through excellence in thought and action. Ashley Elementary School is a diverse community that embraces academic achievement as well as culture, language, arts and athletics.
Ashley Elementary’s pillars for success are based on:
TIME. With extended school days from 8 am to 4 pm, an Ashley-specific calendar and six, 6-week cycles of learning, students are constantly monitored to assure their needs are met.
PEOPLE. Two educators are provided per classroom so students benefit from lower student-teacher ratios and enhanced learning opportunities.
RIGOROUS INSTRUCTION. Blended learning combines teacher-led instruction through the use of technology in all classrooms. As a 1:1 iPad school, every student K–5 will have their own iPad to use at school to increase learning and engagement.
LANGUAGE. We believe in the power of being bilingual. Programs support English language development of native Spanish speakers and ensure native English speakers are on the road to becoming bilingual by the end of 5th grade if they begin with us in ECE!
LITERACY. With 180 minutes of literacy instruction a day, students are able to engage in critical thinking in reading and writing while developing strong communication skills.
MATH & SCIENCE. Students are exposed to a rigorous mathematics curriculum and given hands-on science opportunities to prepare for the science, technology, engineering and math careers of the future!
ARTS, ATHLETICS & ENRICHMENT. Many options are available for music, visual arts, dance, activities and clubs as well as athletic teams and a full spectrum of enrichment opportunities.
COMMUNITY. Daily community meetings and an active Parent Organization define our positive school culture. Our local community and families are engaged, present and part of building our dream school, together.
