Family Child Care Providers are licensed to care for children in a private home. They must be at least 18 years of age and be certified in Infant and Child CPR and first aid. They may be licensed to care for up to 6, 8, or 10 children. Additional work experience and training are required before a licensee can increase their enrollment. Family Child Care Providers are allowed to be assisted by a Certified Assistant or Regular Assistant who must meet certain EEC guidelines. Group Child Care is center-base programming for more than 10 children where, in most cases, they are grouped according to age. Group Child Care programs are staffed and administered by EEC qualified professionals.
Infant-Toddler or Preschool Teacher must be at least 21 years old. Education and work experience are necessary to obtain EEC certification as an Infant-Toddler or Preschool Teacher for center-based early education programs.
