Qualifications: Associate’s degree (AA/AS) or equivalent; one-to-three years related experience. Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) preferred. For positions at the Early Childhood Center, twelve units of ECE or equivalent preferred.  For positions at the elementary school, prior teaching experience and/or multiple subject credential preferred. Willingness to work with others to create a positive, child-centered classroom community. Compensation:  At the Early Childhood Center, $11/hour.  At the elementary school, $11/hour for aides and $12/hour forteachers. Hours will vary as our programs operate between 7:00 am – 6:00 pm. For teachers: We seek life-long learners willing and able to work with kids in ways that inspire critical thinking and creativity. Qualifications include either a California multiple subject credential or a Masters Degree in a related field. This is an opportunity for teachers who are prepared to invent thematic, project based curricula in social studies and science, but are also prepared to work sensitively and productively with a diverse population, including some children with special needs, and to apply the National Core Curriculum to good, individualized teaching of language arts and math. Skills in thearts, in science, and in Spanish are highly desirable. For aides: This is an opportunity for a creative college graduate who wants to try out teaching for a couple of years. Candidates must have experience and skills in managing elementary age students, and be creative and flexible in adapting curricula for individual children’s needs. Skills with special needs populations are particularly valuable. Skills in the arts, in science, and in Spanish are highly desirable.
