Workshops The Career Center offers workshops throughout the academic year to help students pursue their career goals. Attend a workshop or request a specific presentation for your organization or student group.  To request a workshop contact  or  . Major Event The week before pre-registration begins each Fall and Spring semester, the Career Center sets up in a remote location outside the library on the main campus to be more accessible to students. The Major Event provides students with the opportunity to find out more about majors. Schedule of Classes, Bulletins and handouts about majors will be available. It is important for students to choose a major, know advisors and how to go about changing a major. CLASSES Career Exploration: LLS 1321 “Career Exploration” is a one-credit course designed to help freshmen and sophomores learn about themselves and how to investigate potentially satisfying major and career options. Learning objectives include identifying interests, skills, valuesand personality traits; increasing knowledge of various majors; learning career options with majors; locating and utilizing academic and career informational resources; developing decision-making and goal setting skills. Employment Readiness: LLS 1721 This one-credit course equips students with the necessary tools to find and land that great job after college and beyond. Just some of the topics include writing effective resumes and cover letters, uncovering personal strengths and weaknesses, improving interview skills, networking tips and negotiating salary. Students will learn what employers really look for in potential candidates with several employers visiting throughout the semester. Don’t miss a great opportunity to get prepared for your future.
