Learn more about our individual tutors below or .   Alex Lineberry ACT Test Prep Tutor BS in Psychology, Trinity University – expected 2018 Alex Lineberry is originally from Alabama, but has lived most of her life in Minnesota. She was a ballet dancer for fifteen years and completed the Kumon Reading Program in 2008. Alex has experience as a nanny and camp counselor; this will be her second year at The Learning Lab. In addition to her Psychology major, Alex is taking courses in the pre-medical track. She likes to listen to music and take dancing classes with her friends in her free time.     Aly Kirchhof Elementary & Middle School Tutor All Subjects & Study Skills  MA in Teaching, Trinity University – expected2016; BA, in Human Communication, Trinity University – 2015 Aly Kirchhof is studying for her Masters in Teaching at Trinity University.  She is currently student teaching at Woodridge Elementary School.  Two inspiring teachers nurtured Aly’s passion for learning and teaching – something she hopes to share with kids at The Learning Lab. In her spare time Aly enjoys crafting, cooking, horse back riding and spending time with family.  This is Aly’s third year at The Learning Lab.   Annalisa Trevino Elementary, Middle & High School Tutor English, History, Writing & Math  BA in International Studies & German, Trinity University – expected 2016 Annalisa Trevino is a senior at Trinity University double majoring in International Studies and German. She has 3+ years of tutoring experience, working in the past for the School of Science and Technology. Anna is excited to continue working with kids of all ages at The Learning Lab – she loves how rewarding tutoring can be for both parties involved!In her spare time she enjoys lazing about with her cat, and going to concerts.     Ariana Halsey Martinez Duvall Elementary, Middle & High School Tutor English, Spanish, Logic, Debate & Math (thorough Algebra 1) Double major in Entrepreneurship and Communications at Trinity University – expected 2018 Ariana H. Martinez-Duvall is a sophomore at Trinity University. She has worked as a private college counselor for high school seniors and taught high school debate classes. She is looking forward to continuing her work at the Learning Lab and in her free time she enjoys reading, horseback riding, and visiting her family in Mexico City.     Cathy Walters Elementary & Middle School Tutor Math, English & Spanish  BS in Computer Science, Trinity University – expected 2018 Cathy Walters is currently a sophomore at Trinity University.  She was born in Lima, Peru and was raised in Austin, Texas.  During the summer she tutored children at Posada Esperanza and was a camp counselor for VentureLab, astartup which specializes in camps for entrepreneurship and technology.  Although she is majoring in Computer Science, Cathy is very interested in attending law school after college.  In her free time she enjoys reading, playing the cello, and drawing.     David Stroud Middle & High School Tutor Math & English BS in Mathematical Finance and Accounting – expected 2016; MA in Accounting expected 2017 David Stroud is currently a senior at Trinity University. He is majoring in Mathematical Finance and Accounting. He has been a 7th grade mentor for Trinity’s Saturday Morning Experience and has spent time coaching a high school soccer team. Recently David has worked in Investment Banking in Shanghai and government research in Los Alamos. He has seen the practical side of many academic skills and loves helping students reach their potential. David enjoys running track, volleyball, and crossword puzzles.   Emma Lichtenberg Middle & High School Tutor English, Writing, & History BA in Religionand History, Trinity University — expected 2017 Emma Lichtenberg is a Junior at Trinity University from Brenham, Texas. She has a passion for learning and teaching alike. She has received multiple awards for her writing proficiency, has been recognized as a University Scholar, and is a peer tutor for a freshman seminar course this semester. By tutoring at The Learning Lab, she hopes to explore a future in teaching. In her free time, she enjoys playing flute in the Trinity University Wind Ensemble, exploring San Antonio, and spending time with friends and family.     Evan Epps Middle & High School Tutor English, Writing, History, Speech & Spanish BS in Urban Studies, Trinity University — expected 2017 Evan Epps is currently a Junior Urban Studies Major and Spanish Minor at Trinity University. After graduation, he plans to attend graduate school to pursue a career in sustainable design and development. An avid athlete, Evan has worked as an assistant high school track coach,and he taught swim lessons, with experience working with kids who have physical and cognitive disabilities. He was a teaching intern at a bi-lingual school in Madrid. When he isn’t studying or teaching, you can find him running, swimming, hiking, biking, longboarding, or anything outdoors.   Gabrielle Racz Elementary & Middle School Tutor; SAT Tutor Math, Reading, English  BA in Business Administration, Trinity University – expected 2018 Gabi Racz is a sophomore at Trinity University. She has been working at the Learning Lab for a year now. She is a member of the National Society of Colligate Scholars and Alpha Kappa Psi, a national business fraternity. Previously she volunteered regularly as a reading tutor for under privlidged elementary students. She also worked as a camp counselor at Camp Longhorn and The Lab at Lakewood.     Haly LeFlore Elementary, Middle & High School Tutor Math (through pre-calculus), English, Study Skills, Social Studies (through middle school) & Science BA inpsychology, Trinity University – expected 2016, MA in Teaching, Trinity University – expected 2017 Haly LeFlore is a senior at Trinity University and is planning to complete the elementary Masters of Arts in Teaching program at Trinity University following her graduation. She spent part of her spring semester in a Woodridge classroom and really loved working with the children. Haly has been part of the Trinity choir and in her free time loves singing, reading and cooking.     Ileana Sherry Elementary, Middle & High School Tutor English , Reading, Writing, History, & Study Skills BA in English, Trinity University–expected 2016 Ileana Sherry is a senior at Trinity University with a major in English and minors in History and Education. She plans to pursue a career in secondary education, teaching high school English, after attaining a Master’s of Arts in Teaching from Trinity University. Currently she is a mentor, teaching fourth grade, with Trinity’s Saturday Morning Experience. She alsoworks as an editor for the Trinity yearbook, The Mirage, and for 1996: A Journal of Creative Nonfiction, and is looking forward to presenting work at the American Literature Association Conference this year.   Jennifer Martinez Elementary & Middle School  Math, Spanish, English & Study Skills BA in Urban Studies, Trinity University – expected 2016 Jennifer Martinez is a Trinity University Senior who wants to make a difference in children’s lives.  She plans to work in Education in the future. She is a first generation college student who attended high school at TMI. Previously, she worked at KIPP Aspire Middle school as a tutor for math and reading. She is very excited to start working as a individual tutor at The Learning Lab. Her hobbies including crafting and hanging out with friends.     Marcella Reyes Elementary, Middle & High School  English, Spanish & History BA in Urban Studies, Trinity University – expected 2016 Marcella Reyes is a senior at Trinity University majoring inUrban Studies with a minor in Spanish. She spent a semester abroad in Spain and hopes to pursue a graduate degree in Planning & Community Development. She has previously tutored at the KIPP Aspire Academy Middle School. Marcella ran cross-country and track & field at Trinity and enjoys running in her free time, and exploring state parks in Texas as well as new places in San Antonio.     Michael Miller Elementary, Middle & High School  Math, Science & English BA in Urban Studies and Art, Trinity University – expected 2017 Michael Miller is currently a junior at Trinity University.  He is double majoring in urban studies and art with hopes to help redevelop areas of Shreveport, Louisiana — his hometown. Although his true passion lies with the arts, he still has a great love for science, having taken engineering classes and numerous math classes at Trinity.  He has plenty of experience and patience from working with kids while being a camp councilor.  Outside of academics he also likes toplay soccer, run, and go backpacking.     Rebekah Vashus Elementary, Middle & High School  English, Math (through geometry), Science & Speech BA in Anthropology – expected graduation 2018 Rebekah Vashus is a sophomore at Trinity University. She works as an assistant for the Sociology and Anthropology department on campus, and is also a member of the Trinity Bee Alliance. Rebekah has experience with private tutoring in the areas of SAT/ACT and TAKS test prep. She also has extensive child care experience – babysitting, nannying and working at the daycare in the Onion Creek Country Club in Austin, TX. In her free time, Rebekah enjoys hula hooping, reading and writing.   Maggie McMahon Owner MHSA, University of Michigan; BA in Psychology, Trinity University Maggie McMahon is a writer and entrepreneur who lives in San Antonio, Texas with her husband and two sons.   After years of advocating for her children’s special educational needs, Maggie left her corporate career and opened TheLearning Lab.  She believes that learning should be fun, but recognizes that frustration and worry or boredom and routine can sometimes get in the way.
