Students will obtain an in depth, solid understanding of the diversity of Spanish wine.

This professional course comprehensively delves into the past, present and future of Spanish wine. The history, culture, climate, regionality, grape varieties, viticulture, viniculture, wine laws and current trends and styles are examined and reinforced with a dynamic and disciplined tasting component that accompanies each session.

Whether you have completed, or are working through your professional wine certifications such as ISG, ISA or WSET, work in the Hospitality Industry or Wine Trade, this is an exciting and progressive course that is an invaluable resource for an increasingly growing and diverse market for Spanish wines.

Classes will begin with power point presentations and lectures, followed by guided tastings with qualified wine professionals.

Students must have a solid foundation of wine knowledge as a pre-requisite, we recommend that if available in your area, students first successfully complete the OMESI – ‘Wines, a Global Perspective’ or an equivalent wine study program before attempting this curriculum.
