Learn Spanish Madrid Cheap

I received this email today:

We purchased Visual Latin and we are really enjoying it and learning a lot. I had a question for Dwayne Thomas: we are appreciating his approach to learning a language. Does he have any recommendations on a Spanish curriculum? I know there are many out there available, but would love to know what he recommends.

Here is my reply:

Glad to hear you are enjoying Visual Latin!

As for Spanish… I recommend the Spanish Dict videos on You Tube:

Start there for a good, basic introduction.  Also, bookmark their helpful website:

If you are an audio learner, check out Coffee Break Spanish: .  Using only their free stuff, you could learn Spanish in a year, or so.

Once you have reached an intermediate level, start watching the Spanish “” series on You Tube.  You may need to monitor this one.  It is a sitcom, and can be suggestive.

Finally, when you have reached an intermediate/advanced level, start watching  on You Tube.  She’s great.

As for textbooks, I have found nothing great.  Just grab whatever your local library has.  Read a grammar, or two.  This will give you a feel for the structure of the language.

If you are a Christian, start listening to the Bible in Spanish.  This will give you feeling for the language.  Here’s one:

Hope this helps!
