This is a great illustration of the history of Indo-Eupropean Languages. I have no doubt that the history of humanity follows a very similar path. I would be interested to know the dating of the various breakaway branches and also see some details of the rest of the tree. Its interesting that this is such a small part of the tree. I would guess the bulk of it is African languages. If anyone can add some more info please do.
