Class Description: Class Description: Students will continue their in-depth study of Spanish grammar, vocabulary, and history with greater emphasis on translation. Preterite, imperfect, reflexive and future tenses are covered thoroughly, and special emphasis is placed on proper pronoun usage. Vocabulary is cumulative, introduced weekly, and tested weekly. Students will also engage in reading about and studying some aspects of Spanish and Latin American history.
THIS CLASS MEETS TWICE PER WEEK - MONDAY AND THURSDAY.
Students will attain an appreciation for the Spanish language as a follow-up to Spanish I. Students will learn proper pronunciation and enunciation.
This course is for high school students. Motivated eighth graders and younger students who have completed High School Spanish 1 will be individually considered. Prerequisite: HS Spanish 1. It is recommended that all incoming students have completed a full year of Spanish using the A Beka curriculum. Students using another curriculum will be considered on an individual basis. Abeka textbooks, Mas Que Vencedores, are required. Cost is $45.05 for the 2-volume set. Vocabulary book is also required Cost is $20.70. (Look for these on e-bay or similar websites for discounted pricing).
$25 materials fee is required per year to cover the printing costs of tests, quizzes, and incidentals.
