Overview

Becoming a Language Assistant in a Spanish school is a unique experience that your will never forget. As well as improving your language skills, exploring a different culture, learning Spanish and living a multicultural experience, you will build your sense of independence and you will gain valuable skills and experience for the future. The goal of this cultural exchange is that, while out of the school, Language Assistants will spend half of their time interacting in English with the host family and the other half interacting in Spanish, travelling or enjoying their spare time as they want. During the programme, the host family will cover meals and accommodation expenses.

This programme is aimed at native English speakers. You do not need to have teaching experience. The programmes provide you with the opportunity to gain experience while receiving valuable additional training and a grant that will allow you to cover your living expenses.

The programmes include training (a 6 ECTS credits online course towards TEFL or CLIL accreditation) and teaching practice (as a Language Assistant).

Position Description

  •  Provide 20 hours per week of teaching in a school environment (private or semi-private schools through-out Spain)
  • You will live with a host family and receive a grant of 300 Euros/month to cover incidental expenses.
  • The programmes start in September and end in May of each year.

Minimum Requirements

  • Be between the ages of 18-24 years old and do not have an university degree
  • Be able to commit for a period of approximately 9 months
  • Be able to obtain a Spanish Student Visa
  • Have medical insurance for duration of stay in Spain
  • You are responsible for your flights to/from Spain
