Today’s word is that one where you just sit around, and you take peeks at the clock and try to distract yourself because you’re in espera. Can you guess what that word is?

Espera (es-peh-rah) – (a) wait; waiting for

This word comes from the verb esperar which means to wait

Examples:

Estoy a la espera de la hora del almuerzo – I’m waiting for lunch hour/lunch time

Estoy a la espera de noticias – I’m waiting for news

Los soldados están a la espera de órdenes – The soldiers are waiting for orders

It is also the same conjugation when another person is waiting. For example:

Ella espera – she waits

Él espera – he waits

Ellos esperan – they wait

Do not confuse with:

Esfera which translates to sphere

This is it for today! I hope I’m being helpful in your Spanish learning

Have a great day (or night!) and thanks for reading my blog.

Until next time!
