Telephone Support Group Announced for Family Caregivers WellMed Charitable Foundation announced the implementation of a new free Telephone Support Group (TSG) Program for family caregivers. The definition of a family caregiver is “Caregivers are the individuals who support persons with chronic conditions at home, often at great physical and emotional expense to themselves. ”

The goal of the program is to bring professional and peer support to caregivers, who typically are too busy to take time out to attend community based caregiver support groups.

to get more details on how the program works.

Why do we sponsor a Respite Voucher program?  Family caregivers work tirelessly and selflessly to provide assistance to loved ones who are living with disabilities and chronic conditions and often to the detriment of their own health and emotional well-being. Respite Vouchers can be used by family caregivers to cover costs for in-home or community-based respite care services that you secure on your own, so you can relax and enjoy a short-term break from your duties as family caregiver.

The funding is based on a collaborative partnership between the Arizona Caregiver Coalition  and Arizona Department of Economic Security, Division of Aging and Adult Services, Arizona Association of Area Agencies on Aging and through the support of other public/private partnerships. If you have any further questions call  Toll Free 1-888-737-7494.
