Spanish I
lunes- Today we reviewed the difference in tú and Usted for bellwork. We also reviewed all of our greetings and basic questions/responses. We were able to have our first conversations in Spanish! Students were given different scenarios (time of day, feelings, etc.) and had spontaneous conversations with a partner. Students received their first Google Voice assignment and were able to practice calling GV during class.
martes- I gave instructions on how to subscribe to our class Quizlet study cards and showed students how to access this new-and-improved class website. We discussed how to ask others for their age and where they are from. With all the parts to a basic conversation, students were able to interview each other and find out their classmate’s names, ages, places of origin, and see how they are doing today.
miércoles- I was out today for the Shelby County Schools Improvement Team Meeting. Today you had bellwork that asked your to write a conversation with the scenario I gave you. Then, you worked on some activities with words that we will learn next week. If you didn’t understand 100%, it is okay because we will work on it next week!
jueves- Today we took a bellwork quiz on the bellwork from the first weeks of school. Then, we took a practice quiz to prepare for our quiz tomorrow.
viernes- Quiz on commands, alphabet, and greetings; Google Voice due by 4pm. If you missed this quiz, you should talk to me upon your return. You will have one week to make it up.

Spanish II
lunes- Today we began by reviewing subject pronouns and what it means to conjugate a verb. If you are unsure about this concept, PLEASE talk to me (Ms. Walz) so you can understand. After the bellwork review, we worked on a set of activities to review some more. First, we reviewed some vocabulary of common activities and then we worked to change verbs to match their subjects. Students had to understand the context of the sentences to be able to place the correct verb in each sentence. We will finish and go over these activities tomorrow.
martes- Our bellwork reviewed regular vs. irregular verbs and the concept of stem-changing verbs. It’s important to know the difference! However, ONLY REGULAR verbs will be on your quiz on Friday. We continued the handout from yesterday with partners, and then we reviewed it as a class. Lastly, I gave instructions on how to subscribe to our class Quizlet study cards and showed students how to access this new-and-improved class website.
miércoles- I was out today for the Shelby County Schools Improvement Team Meeting. Your bellwork reviewed descriptions. Then, you worked on a pre-test for Spanish II. It covered concepts from Spanish I. I will use this to figure out how we need to review Spanish I as a class.
jueves- Today we took a bellwork quiz on the bellwork from the first weeks of school. Then, we took a practice quiz to prepare for our quiz tomorrow.
viernes- Quiz on commands, descriptions, regular present tense verbs. If you missed this quiz, you should talk to me upon your return. You will have one week to make it up.
