Throughout the school year the PTO sponsors many events and programs for educational, community-building and fundraising purposes. The success of these programs depends on volunteer efforts and support from our Lynnewood families.

Below you will find a list of volunteer sign-up opportunities along with short descriptions. If you would like to sign-up to volunteer for the opportunities below, click on the links under the descriptions. ***Pennsylvania requires most school volunteers to have background clearances in order to volunteer in all Haverford Township schools. Volunteers will need background clearances if they will be involved directly with the care, supervision, guidance, or control of children, or will have routine interaction with children while in a District school or on District grounds. Volunteer Sign-Ups

COMING SOON – SPANISH EXPLORADORES   Introductory fun Spanish classes at Lynnewood Have you always wanted your son or daughter to learn Spanish?  Now is their chance!  Through immersion style classes your child will learn: greetings, numbers, colors, and other introductory level topics and sentences in conversational Spanish.   Lynnewood Elementary will be offering Spanish classes before school on:

  • Wednesday mornings at 7:50am for grades 1 – 3
  • Friday mornings at 7:50am for grades 4 – 5

Lynnewood’s Action Karate Club Join Lynnewood’s Action Karate Club!  It’s a great way for your child to learn new skills, have fun, and also gain confidence and self-respect! The Action Karate “Fitness Based Character Development Course” combines martial arts lessons with discussion. Specifically, we will be focusing on five positive life skills, including focus, self-control, respect, confidence and balance. The program is open to all students; enrollment is limited. This program will be taught by certified black belt instructors from Action Karate.

Lynnewood’s Action Karate Club will be after school on Fridays April 1st, 8th, 15th, and 22nd. Classes are 30 minutes long. A graduation ceremony will be held at Action Karate (934 West Lancaster Ave. Bryn Mawr, PA 19010) upon completion. LIMITED SPACE AVAILABLE.   Sign-up at:

Participation for the after school club is $20 and 100% of the funds go directly to our school. (Please make checks out to Lynnewood Kids Club.)The instructors and materials required to run the program will be provided by Action Karate as part of our commitment to helping the local children.

Fifth Grade Activities: Are you a parent of a fifth grader this year? There are many ways that you can get involved in this important and memorable year for you child. We will need help with the pool party, talent show, class gift, and so much more. Please go to the following website to volunteer your time:
