Welcome to Aragon Online, an informative portal about the Spanish region of Aragón built by and for perople all around the world. We do believe that Aragón is one of least known regions in Spain; in spite of its breathtaking landscapes, its astonishing buildings and works of art, its milenary history, its natural parks, its religious traditions and devotion, its culture and its past (and present) influence all over the world, not many people knows about it and few foreign visitors take Aragon into account when planning their trips, making it only a stop-over when travelling to other parts of Spain. Yes, we do not have beach, but it is still Spain!
Here you will be able to learn about the history of Aragón, from the first human settlements and the Roman occupation to the formation of the Crown of Aragon and its influence during the Spanish colonization of America and Asia and the migrtions from the villages to the cities, which left many uninhabited villages in the most remote places.
With an area more than twice as big as Wales, Aragón has plenty of breathtaking landscapes and environments for you to enjoy: high mountains, snowy summits, oasis in the middle of desserts, fertile river valleys, villages more likely to be in a postcard, gorgeous waterfalls, … Most of these landscapes have been internationally awarded, but some are there just for you to discover them.
Aragón is a very diverse region, with a wide range of activities for everybody: adventure and winter sports, bird watching, espeleology, historical re-enactments, religious procesions, etc. Here you will find information about all of them as well as the latest updates and events.
